Julia Berkeley is an English American singer songwriter. Born in Africa she was raised predominently in London, UK and currently lives in Ojai, California. The transmission that moves through her voice is the flowering of her dedication to the pursuit of Truth and embodiment of love, through yoga, conscious dance, and a variety of healing practices.
Music has always been a passion for Julia but it wasn’t until she found Kirtan, a call and response chanting practice that clears the mind and opens the heart, that singing entered her life. In fact up until that point she truly believed that she couldn’t sing.
Magically this practice opened both her heart and her voice.
Already surprised by this unfolding she then found herself in a recording project with the amazing Brothers Koren, inspiring and talented brothers formerly signed to Interscope/Universal Records who toured with Coldplay, Pink and Rod Stewart. They now help artists find their voice.
Julia's collaboration with the Brothers Koren has birthed two albums into the world. Her first, Embody Love, is an offering, from the heart to the heart. The second, Aham Prema, is soon to be released but you can listen to most of the songs as singles below.

Radha is the aspect of your soul that longs for union. She yearns to be united with her beloved, Krishna, in the form of Govinda, and merge in infinite love.
May this mantra, Julia’s voice and words and the heart opening string accompaniment from virtuoso violinist Kerenza Peacock, transport you to the infinite field of love that is ever present everywhere.
LYRICS
Radhe Radhe Govinda Hare
Radhe Radhe Govinda Hare
Govinda Hare Govinda Hare
Govinda Hare
As I release my search
For your love
My heart breaks open
Wider than the ocean
Radhe Radhe Govinda Hare
Radhe Radhe Govinda Hare
Govinda Hare Govinda Hare
Govinda Hare
I was looking for love
Inside a raindrop
But your love
Is wider than the ocean
This love, this love, this infinite love
Wider than the the ocean...
I Am Free
This song is an ancient and potent healing mantra known as the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra. It is actually a verse from the Rig Veda and is considered to be the most powerful Shiva mantras.
Invoking Lord Shiva, the destroyer and transformer, it is known for bestowing health and longevity upon human life.
In india this mantra is prescribed as medicine for physical ailments. It is said to ward off calamities and prevent untimely death. It is used at the time of death to help a soul let go and move on. It is a great tonic for all troubles that are faced in life, helping to calm the mind and uplift our perspective from the mundane to the eternal.
Ultimately this is a liberating mantra that asks, just as the ripe fruit falls from the vine, may I be liberated from the endless cycles of birth, death and suffering into the eternal abode of joy that Shiva is.
A common translation is as follows:
"We worship the three-eyed One (Lord Shiva) who is fragrant and who nourishes all beings; may He liberate me from death, for the sake of immortality, even as the cucumber is severed from its bondage (of the creeper)."
LYRICS
Aum Tryambakam yajaamahe sugandhim pushtivardhanam
Urvaarukamiva bandhanaan-mrityormuksheeya maamritaat
Untie me from this mind
Release me from the vine
Of pleasure and pain
Of loss and gain
So I see I AM free
So I see I AM free
So I see I AM

Aham Prema
Aham Prema means I Am Love.
This song, with it's hypnotic repetition of the mantra, slow build of the violin (played by virtuoso violinist Kerenza Peacock) and heart opening vocals sung by Julia Berkeley accompanied by Thorald Koren, will take you on a journey into the remembrance of the essence of who you are… Pure Love.
It was the first song that Julia ever wrote when she picked up a harmonium just a few years ago. It remains innocent in it's simplicity and potent in it's transmission of peace and love.
LYRICS

Om Tare
Om Tare is the first song to be released off of Julia’s soon to be shared second album.
It is a beautiful soulful melody that brings a transmission of potent healing energy.
The mantra invokes Green Tara. She is a force of great compassion in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, one who liberates us from anger, fear, anxiety and the bondages of the ego.
Listen or chant along to call on the grace of the Divine Mother. May she assist you through challenging times.
